8 days in Turkey staying in three different regions of the country. Ancient landscapes and a deep rich culture abounds. To walk in the foot steps of Alexander the Great and the Virgin Mary was a humbling experience.

Heartfelt thanks to all of those that made this such a memorable experience. I sincerely hope to be back.

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted an update on this piece, but here is where I am with it as of today.

The cabriole legs turned out better than I ever expected and I really love the visual weight of this table/desk now that it’s all assembled.

All that’s left is some more sanding and choosing the finish. I’m still on the fence with which way I want to go with the finish/stain/wax, so stay tuned to see how that turns out!

40 years of friendship and many miles of adventures to go. I consider myself a lucky man to be able to share life with people like Jason Crew. It’s hard to find people to truly share the good, the bad, and the ugly with and who want to see you be the best version of yourself. If you find those people, hold on tight. It’s worth more than gold.

Last week we took out a 42’ sailing catamaran in the British Virgin Islands thanks to Life Is Short Adventures and had day upon day of incredible winds that made for a the most prolific sailing either of us had ever done in that area.

We visited Tortola>Gorda Sound>Anegada>Marina Cay>Two anchorages on Jost Van Dyke>Two nights in Kelly’s Cove on Norman Island. We ate amazing food. We drank all the rum drinks. We visited amazing people. We worked. We played. We sailed. It was perfect.

See you in March, BVI! The girls and I are coming for you.

And here it is… The Catcher

Figured cherry and epoxy on metal

This piece would be perfect for a home or office space and is sure to get more beautiful with age. The figured cherry is paired with a custom emerald epoxy as well as clear epoxy to highlight the beauty of the life of the tree in which it was made. The visually pleasing curves of the golden base are carried into the top with a deep cove around the bottom and invites the eyes to move up and down across the piece with ease.
