The customer is not always right.
But they are always worth being honest with!
We’ve had homeowners ask us for the cheapest way to get the job done, and technically, there is usually a cheaper way.
There is almost always a cheaper way.
You can use low quality materials. Skip important steps. Rush the prep. Ignore the details that may not show up right away. Build the whole job around the lowest possible number instead of the right long-term solution.
But that is not the kind of job we want to do.
So we tell homeowners the truth.
We explain what can be done, what should be done, and what risks come with cutting corners.
Because eventually, those “savings” can show up somewhere else like in ceiling leaks, repeat repairs, interior damage, frustration, or another contractor having to fix what should have been done correctly the first time.
The cheapest option is not always the most affordable option.
The fastest timeline is not always the best timeline.
And telling a customer “yes” to everything they ask for is not always good service.
Sometimes the most respectful thing a contractor can do is slow down, explain the risk, and be willing to lose the job instead of doing it wrong.
Because our job is not just to win the bid.
It is to protect your home, your property, and the people underneath it.
A good contractor will listen to what you want, but trustworthy contractor will also tell you what you need to know!
