Summer at the office feels a little different! There’s a special vibrancy in the air when new faces join our office culture. Most of our interns have headed back to school, but it’s been a blast encouraging them, learning from them, and creating special memories along the way.

Each summer, TURNERBATSON’s team comes together for our annual Serve Day. It’s an opportunity to live out our values of People, Passion, and Purpose by giving back to one of our clients through a meaningful community service project. This year, we were honored to serve Cornerstone Schools of Alabama at its Elementary School Campus in Woodlawn!

Cornerstone Schools of Alabama is one of the largest private Christian school systems in Birmingham, serving students across three campuses with a mission of providing a positive learning environment while empowering students to glorify God. This summer, refreshing the elementary school cafeteria was a top priority.

TURNERBATSON recently joined The Foundry to celebrate a “Clearing the Way” groundbreaking for the new 30,000 SF Bessemer Men’s Dorm. TURNERBATSON project team members Dave Reese and Michael Goswick participated in the ceremony.

“This event marked a day of demolition and celebration,” said Foundry CEO Micah Andrews. “We are clearing what’s broken and making way for something positive, fresh, and new for the men at The Foundry’s Bessemer Campus.”

Our team took the opportunity to visit the recently completed corporate offices and Birmingham warehouse for Consolidated Pipe & Supply. This was a great way for the entire TURNERBATSON team to see every design element in person.

From the warm materials to the natural light, this design shares Consolidated’s vision to remember the past while preparing for the future.

The addition and renovations to Fox Run School will consist of approximately 70,000 square feet of new space designed to accommodate two full grades of Opelika students.

The building more than doubles the capacity of students and is being built in reaction and anticipation of thriving population growth in the city.

The existing facility was completed in 2023 and was designed to house the system’s entire 5th grade.
