New doesn’t always mean ground-up. Architecture has a long history of building upon what came before — literally. The Armstead Residence, completed Spring 2026, continues that tradition. Submitted for this year’s local AIA Design Awards, this project reimagines an existing home with forward-thinking design, energy-efficient systems, and locally crafted details — all while honoring the original structure beneath it.
