Employee Appreciation Picnic 2026

Yesterday afternoon, we took a break from the daily grind to recognize the incredible team that keeps Precision Underground moving forward.

We kicked off the afternoon with a safety meeting focused on safe operations in and around our directional drills. Taking time to review best practices, discuss real-world scenarios, and reinforce our commitment to safety helps ensure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

After the meeting, the crew enjoyed a catered meal, some friendly competition with a bean bag tournament, and a few rounds of Left-Right-Center. It was a great opportunity to relax, connect with coworkers, and celebrate the hard work and dedication our employees bring to the job every day.

A huge thank you to our entire team for your commitment to safety, quality, and the work ethic that makes Precision Underground successful.

👷 Employee Spotlight: Scott Thompson, Regional Project Manager

This week we’re recognizing Scott Thompson, one of our Regional Project Managers here at Precision Underground.

Scott has been part of the Precision Underground team since 2015 and oversees projects throughout western North Dakota. With years of underground utility experience, he’s known for thinking ahead, solving problems before they become issues, and keeping projects moving safely and efficiently.

His calm leadership, attention to detail, and willingness to help others have earned the respect of both our crews and our customers. Whether he’s coordinating a complex project or mentoring newer team members, Scott is someone you can count on to get the job done right.

Today’s office. 👷

Our crew spent the day working near Falkirk Mine, with cooler temperatures making for a welcome break before the heat returns later this week. The skies were a bit hazy from wildfire smoke drifting in from neighboring states, creating a unique North Dakota backdrop.

No matter the conditions, we’re proud of the team that shows up every day, works safely, and gets the job done right.

Before the concrete is poured. Before the buildings go up. Before planes ever use the new space… there’s the work beneath the surface.

Precision Underground is proud to be performing the underground utility work for the Dickinson Airport expansion. The miles of cable and underground infrastructure our crews install today are what make tomorrow’s facilities possible.

It’s work most people will never see, but it’s some of the most important work on any project. We’re honored to play a role in expanding an airport that will continue to serve Western North Dakota for years to come.

We’re proud to have played a small part in helping improve the fan experience at the Mandan Rodeo Grounds!

Precision Underground donated the installation of the water line that now supplies the grandstand misting system, helping keep spectators cool during those hot summer rodeos. While we didn’t install the misters themselves, we’re honored to have provided the underground infrastructure that makes them possible.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community and support an event that so many people enjoy each year.

Precision Underground was honored to attend the ND CLC Local Leaders event at the Doosan Bobcat Accelerated Center.

We had the opportunity to tour the facility and learn about Bobcat’s innovative approach to workplace culture, leadership, and product development. From their collaborative work environment to their commitment to incorporating customer feedback into equipment design, it was inspiring to see how innovation is driven throughout their organization.

Experiences like these provide valuable insights that help strengthen our industry and challenge us to continuously improve how we serve our customers and support our employees.
