After hearing all of the talk about the Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum) in front of the old Suntrust building - we went over and took a peek at it. With it's well shaped crown and sturdy trunk, this tree is worth keeping in town. Some work could be done to improve its condition (correcting girdling roots, light pruning, etc.) but nothing major.
