We are currently looking for a dependable full time License Electrician and/or Apprentice helper!! Must have some experience, and be able to complete tasks on time. Must have dependable transportation to begin with possible work truck available. Work entails residential, commercial and industrial jobs. Pumps, motors, VFD knowledge is preferred but willing to train.

5 Fun Facts about sump pumps you should share with family and friends!!

1.) The perfect candidate for sump pumps are those homes with basements or crawl spaces. Does this area in your home flood when it rains or there's lots of snow melting? If this is a yes, you should invest in a sump pump for your home. This will help prevent any flooding nightmares during the rainy and winter months!

2.) Make sure your sump pump is installed at the lowest level of your basement. The purpose of these pumps is to push the water away from the house before it even reaches your basement floor. The water is removed through a dry well or a storm drain most times.

3.) Another great investment for your home is a battery backup sump pump. Of course -- its raining, lightning, strong winds take out the power -- there goes your pump and here comes the water! Having a battery backup sump pump helps keep this nightmare from occurring. You can call Palmer Electric and Controls to install this back up feature!

4.) When installing sump pumps - these lines need to be buried at the proper depth. If not, they can freeze once temperatures drop.

5.) It's important to test your sump pump. Even if you don't use it or haven't used it. This test should be completed at least every three months. This process is simple and only involves a 5 gallon bucket, fill it with water, and slowly pour water into the sump pump until the float triggers activate your pump. Once the water drops below the float - it will shut off.
