Tip #3 Water your lawn at the correct times throughout the season

You should be wrapping up your watering as close to sunrise as possible. If sunrise is at 6 a.m., you should be done watering at 6 a.m.

Why?

Here are a few reasons why watering at the correct time can save money and water:

💧Wind typically picks up as the day goes on. You don’t want your precious water droplets to blow away.

The field day took place at the University of Wisconsin’s Turfgrass Research and Educational Facility hosted by the Wisconsin Turfgrass Association. In other words, an amazing group of professionals that supports turfgrass research and education, increases general knowledge of maintaining turfgrass, and enjoys the importance of turfgrass in your life came together to host an educational field day!

With a jam-packed day of Madison professors, researchers, and experts, our lawn care specialists took away many helpful nuggets. They left the day with more insight into:

July is smart irrigation month! We want to offer you our top tips and tricks for conserving water.

Tip #1 - Don't cut your grass too short

Mowing height can contribute to the health of your lawn. Keeping your lawn 3" to 4" tall allows grass roots to grow deeper into the soil allowing them to survive longer without water! Taller grass also means the ground is shaded meaning w**ds don't get sunlight to sprout! Bye w**ds 👋
