Intern Spotlight: Brooke McCormick

As we send Brooke back to college, we want to recognize all the hard work she put in during her summer internship! She was hired to prepare and send quotes, answer customer calls, filing invoices, conducting cash flow analyses and monthly reconciliations. Her role grew to include social media posts, optimizing shop space (pictured), and driving to jobsites across the 7 county metro to support our guys in the field. She even suggested and implemented an improvement to our inventory management system when she noticed excessive equipment spend!

Working at a small company means flexibility is essential and Brooke crushed her work while having a cheery attitude! Her care for the company’s success impressed us all and saved us some money.

Her goal this summer was to “make everyone’s job at least a little easier and help out wherever I can,” we can confidently say she exceeded that goal!

Thank you for your help Brooke, you’ll be missed!

Jim Setzer
After 15 years at QCC, Jim has officially earned his spot as our 3rd Wise Man!
Jim keeps things running smoothly by coordinating schedules, helping with customer service, and bidding jobs. One project he’s especially proud of was at Minneapolis International Airport, where he helped coordinate the cutting of openings for the baggage claim conveyor belts!
What keeps Jim at QCC after all these years? The people! He loves the work environment and, of course, his coworkers.
When Jim isn’t at work, you can find him fishing, hunting, or traveling somewhere new. And if Jim could have any superpower? He’d choose to be indestructible—we thought he already was.
Thanks for all you do, Jim! We’re lucky to have you on the QCC team!

Bob White
Bob is one of our project managers/estimators and has been in the industry for 20 years! His day–to–day includes bidding jobs, reviewing scopes, and keeping an eye out for new opportunities. One project he’s especially proud of is the water street project in Saint Paul, MN. Bob says his favorite part about working here is the great group of coworkers and the challenges that come with the job. When he’s not working, you’ll find him fishing, camping, or enjoying the outdoors. And if he could have any superpower? Easy – the ability to fly!

Jason Burton
Project Manager / Estimator (aka 1 of our 3 wise men)
With 25 years on our team, Jason brings deep experience and a steady hand to every project. His day-to-day includes bidding jobs and ensuring ongoing projects run smoothly from start to finish.
One project he’s especially proud of is the Franklin Avenue Bridge, which showed his attention to detail and leadership under pressure.
Jason’s favorite part of working here is the daily interaction with customers and coworkers—he values the teamwork and relationships that make every day rewarding.
Outside of work, you’ll find Jason out hunting or fishing, enjoying the great outdoors. If he could have any superpower, he’d love to fly like Superman—probably to get an even better view of his next big project.
