Keep in mind!
Chloride-based de-icers (sodium, calcium, magnesium chloride) are not entirely safe for concrete; while effective, they can cause surface scaling, spalling, and corrosion of reinforcing steel (rebar) over time. They should be used sparingly, particularly on new (under one year) concrete, and never in excess, as they can cause significant, long-term damage.
