Before & After photos always bring a vibe!
Exposed aggregate is one of the most durable and forgiving exterior concrete finishes available today and delivers a beautiful look!

This was already a tricky set of steps working off existing heights- then we decided to throw in the knee wall/curb so the homeowners didn't have to pay for additional work once the steps were done.
Factor in the pump not working and hand shoveling most of it from the concrete truck made for an interesting project 😅
If you're looking for exterior concrete work that is more than just plain concrete, this is my go to recommendation 🙌

What. A. Week!
Stamped concrete training at the Decorative Concrete Institute was next level this year!
Design by Emil Gera was off the charts and a tall ask, but as expected well planned and executed.
15 students who already do some incredible stamp work, but attended just to sharpen some skills and learn some new tips and tricks. Speaking for myself as well!
We battled some relentless showers so there was a bonus on tenting and what to do when pop up showers rain on your concrete parade 😅
Huge thank you to Bob Harris Lee Ann Harris and Cody Dawkins with Concrete Aesthetics, LLC joining Emil as instructors with their willingness to share what they've learned throughout their long careers.
So many colleagues and friends all across the country it was great to see and work with again and meeting some new friends as well.
Thanks for allowing Landen Bass and I to help this past week it was one for the books that's for sure!
Phase 2 and 3 are going to be just as epic!
As many years as I've been to this event as a student or instructor I am still first and foremost a student to the game and learn something new every year.
Never stop learning!
Surround yourself with people you look up to and want to learn from. Apply, and watch your life change.
That's why you'll always catch me at trainings. The cost is much cheaper than fixing mistakes that could have been avoided.

7,000 sq ft. Decorative concrete driveway we installed 6 years ago.
We came back, gave it a deep clean, and applied two fresh coats of sealer, which brought it right back to life with minimal wear showing.
This is exactly why proper maintenance matters.
If we’ve completed a stamped concrete project for you in the past, now is a great time to reseal and protect your investment.
Sealer isn’t permanent—and once it wears off, the concrete underneath is exposed to the elements.
If your driveway, patio, or pool deck is due, reach out. We’ll take care of it and keep it looking the way it should.
What if we didn't pour your concrete? No problem!
We can seal any exterior concrete—driveways, patios, walkways—to protect your investment and extend its lifespan.

We’re seeing a strong shift this year toward more natural, long-lasting exterior finishes—and honestly, we’re big fans of it!

Exposed aggregate and sand finish are quickly becoming some of our top choices for driveways, pool decks, patios, walkways, and more. Not just because of how they look, but because of how well they perform over time.

• Clean, timeless look ✨
• Great texture and traction 👣
• Holds up extremely well 💪
• Can be done natural or with added color 🎨

Whether you like the more decorative look of exposed aggregate or the clean, subtle feel of a sand finish, both are solid options that really set a project apart.

If you’re planning something this year, these are definitely worth considering 👍

What a fun week!
SureCrete training complete down in Dade City, FL. Was a huge honor to be asked to come down and help with an already powerhouse of a team. We showed these students (most with no experience) some install techniques with stamped overlay, spray and hand textured applications, followed by different staining options, and their epoxy resist system.
This training was unique in the sense that Day 1 was showing how to achieve certain looks with different materials. At the end of day 1 the students, unexpectedly were split into 4 group without getting to pick their teammates.
They had to plan and create their own unique design using what they learned from the previous day, and then execute that onto their existing concrete canvas for a little friendly competition.
I personally was blown away at the outcome they all created!
Huge shout-out to the whole surecrete team and staff, as well as all the guest instructors that were really talented, knowledgeable and had a great time working with and getting to know.
Last but certainly not least and the most important piece to the puzzle, was all the incredible students who attended. Some from another country. Really enjoy doing these and look forward to the next one.
This was extra special having my son Landen Bass there getting some hands on experience with these different products and getting to meet such incredible people.
Thanks again Chris Becker Josh Seyfert Sean Knapp Nate, John and all the other surecrete team members. You guys all did an outstanding job!

🚨 Before you grab that bag of ice melt—read this.
With snow and ice headed our way, I want to share something that could save you thousands in concrete, paver, or stonework repairs.
Ice melt and rock salt damage your hardscape. Here's how:
Salt lowers the freezing point of water, which sounds helpful—but it actually causes MORE freeze-thaw cycles. Each cycle expands and contracts any cement based materials, creating micro-cracks. Salt also draws moisture deeper into the surface, making the damage worse.
The result? Spalling, pitting, flaking, and scaling—often showing up in spring when it's too late.
This applies to pavers and stonework too.
Grout and mortar joints are cement-based, so they suffer the same freeze-thaw damage. Natural stone (flagstone, bluestone, limestone) is porous—salt migrates inside, crystallizes, and breaks it apart from within. You'll also see white chalky residue (efflorescence) and discoloration.
What to use instead:
✅ Sand or kitty litter for traction
✅ Shovel early and often before snow compacts
✅ Calcium magnesium acetate (CMA) if you need a melting agent
✅ Make sure your concrete and stonework is properly sealed.
Your driveway, patio, and walkways were an investment. Protect them.
Stay safe out there, everyone. ❄️

🔟 years in business‼️
Most people quit when it gets uncomfortable.
Most businesses don’t fail from lack of talent — they fail from exhaustion, doubt, mismanaging funds, and giving up too early.
About 25% make it 10 years. Less in construction.
This didn’t happen by luck.
It happened by showing up when it was hard, learning and facing the lessons the hard way, and choosing to keep going when quitting would’ve been easier.
If you’re in year 1… keep pushing.
If you’re in year 5… don’t let off the gas.
Consistency outlasts motivation every time.
Thankful to all our clients over the last decade and what an unpredictable journey it has been!
From starting in a 20 year old for ranger, doing only regular concrete flatwork, to getting some of the most unique opportunities in decorative concrete I would have never imagined.
Still here. Still building.
