Why Your Joists Are Rotting
Stop putting fiberglass in your crawlspace!
If you look under your home and see pink fiberglass insulation hanging down or soaking wet, it’s actually doing more harm than good. In our damp Pocono environment, that insulation acts like a sponge, holding moisture against your wooden floor joists and inviting rot.
At M.T. Contracting, we do things differently.
We strip out the wet mess and install 2-inch Blue Poly Insulation Boards directly onto the crawlspace walls.
Why the Blue Boards? They Don’t Absorb Water: Unlike fiberglass, they stay dry and effective.
They Stop the Draft: They seal the perimeter of your home where the cold air actually gets in.
They Protect Your Joists: By moving the insulation to the walls and sealing the floor with a 6-ply barrier, your wood stays dry and structural.
Don't just "fix" it; engineer it to last.
We've been protecting Blakeslee foundations since 2000.
