The team took a trip to the Test Tower last week!

The Otis Elevator Test Tower is North America’s tallest elevator test tower, standing at 383 feet (equivalent to a 29-story building!). Built in 1987 it serves as a facility to rigorously test elevators for safety, performance, and resilience under various conditions, including power outages, weather events like lightning, and transportation stresses.

The tower is a landmark in the area, visible from afar due to Bristol’s low building height limits. While it’s not open to the public, it plays a vital role in advancing elevator technology and safety standards.
