Fall is here, and so is another completed project! This wonderful customer in Plymouth wanted an upgrade, so I installed new baseboards, shoe molding, crown molding, and cabinet crown molding. Once the painters finish, this trim will truly stand out!

With the holidays just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to schedule your trim updates! Don’t let outdated trim "haunt" your home this season! I have limited availability through the end of the year, so reach out soon to secure your spot before the holiday gatherings begin.

Here's a fun little project I completed today. Water main lines aren't usually the prettiest part of a house, and so today I was tasked with helping to mask it while still ensuring it is accessible. Not only does it make the space look a lot nicer, it is also a great way to keep a young child's curiosity at bay so they don't mistake the spigot for a really fun toy that could cause a lot of problems!

I framed around the main line, put magnets on the studs, as well as the back of the panel, and then put a little counterspace on the top. Now there actually is a little bit of usable space vs before when it was just the wall.

I recently completed this baseboard update in a home in West Bloomington. The old trim and golden oak was giving these spaces a more dated, 80's/90's look. So we took all of the old base out and replaced it with a more modern, square baseboard that was painted white.

Now the rooms not only look brighter, but it "leap frogged" these spaces to look like they were built today. It always amazes me how such a small change can really make a big difference in the look and feel of any room.

With fall around the corner and holidays on the horizon, now is the time to start your trim updates so that it's complete before having your friends and family over. Take a look at these before and afters to get some inspiration for your own projects!

It's been a very busy summer! I'm glad I finally got to share these photos from a job I did in St. Paul replacing all of their door and window casing, baseboards, and shoe! I love the look of the "crown" on the windows and doors to really give it a freshened up classic look. They will be completing the final step of painting the trim on their own.

With several very large projects finished, I am now available for estimates for projects starting in the second half of September. I know it seems early, but now is a great time to get your projects taken care of before the holidays sneak up!

I’ve been so busy that I keep forgetting to take before and after photos of my jobs, but I did remember to take some before and afters from this job in Burnsville I recently completed!

They had some stained oak crown moulding just around the fireplace before, and now they’ve been upgraded to beautiful new wall-to-ceiling crown moulding that goes around the entire room that better matches their aesthetic. Definitely gives the space a little more pep! Thank you for choosing Bar Down Carpentry to make your project a reality!

Some new door casing went up today for this great client! We (as in Brandon from BP Custom Homeworks) also replaced her exterior doors and also put in a new storm door (no photos of those, oops). Now there won’t be any drafts coming in as the temperatures drop. This casing will look even better once it’s painted white to match the rest of the trim! Thank you for choosing me to help you with your projects!

Wanted to share this completed trim job done at a home in Chanhassen. We installed new door and window casing, and we also installed new baseboards. Love that they went with a very bold black baseboard, it really complements the other trim well.

I had the pleasure of getting to partner up with Brandon from BP Custom Homeworks (be sure to give his a page a “Like”!) on this job, and you’ll want to stay tuned for an update on this job next week involving a large beam that’ll be getting installed in this home! I’m very excited to be partnering up with Brandon on several jobs going forward, as he has recently gone out on his own after over 20 years of working for others as a carpenter.
