With the recent rain events, many of us are thinking about how water moves and drains around our homes. For any design-build project, whether a new home or remodel, our design team helps document site conditions, visualize challenges, and create integrated solutions for effective water mitigation.

Here is a remodel project we have underway. Starting with water mitigation as the top priority, our Landscape Designer, David, and Project Designer, Alex, developed site studies, sketches, and schematic plans to shape how the landscape will function as a connected system. Design concepts include a rock garden drainage area with sandstone boulders that help naturally filter runoff before it enters the drainage system.
The process also identifies existing site elements for demolition and areas still being evaluated as the design continues to evolve.

Custom handcrafted inlays on the railing posts mark the entry to our remodel of this very special home deep in the hills of Brown County.
When we work on a home, we aren’t just thinking about improving the quality and condition of the structure, we are thoughtfully reimagining the experience of living in and using the space.
In this case, these diamond inlays harmonize with the architecture’s character, contributing to the calming and meditative approach to the front door.

Developed in the mid-twentieth century as Indianapolis expanded northward, Meridian Hills became home to a distinctive collection of ranch, colonial, and modernist residences.

This whole home renovation reimagines one of its original 1950s homes into a refined, highly functional living space designed for modern life. The homeowners partnered with Felt Space and they referred our team for construction due to our experience with large-scale renovations and historically significant architecture. What began as a dated home in need of structural repairs and full mechanical updates evolved into a carefully detailed, elegant renovation guided by a strong design vision and executed with precision.

The finished home is both beautiful and highly livable, with a focus on universal design principles that support comfort and accessibility on the main floor. The client has shared that they would not change a single thing and expressed deep appreciation for both the Felt Space team and our construction team. This level of satisfaction speaks to the strength of the collaboration. For our team, this project represents what is possible when quality, timeline, and budget align, an outcome that requires trust, communication, and a shared dedication to delivering exceptional results.

Earth tones and natural materials help to balance the clean modern elements in our full home remodel in Carmel, Indiana. This remodel in Indianapolis’ Meridian Park neighborhood focused on restoring cohesion to a 1920s Craftsman home while thoughtfully adapting it for a growing family. The scope included a full renovation of the kitchen, solarium, dining room, powder room, and mudroom, each space reimagined to improve function while preserving architectural integrity.

Existing finishes were carefully matched, original doors and hardware were reused wherever possible, and past alterations were thoughtfully corrected. Today, these spaces support the rhythms of daily life, filled with cooking, gathering, and quiet moments.

This project reflects a thoughtful approach to historic renovation: honoring early 1900s Craftsman architecture while supporting modern living. Its success lies not only in the craftsmanship but in the seamless integration of past and present.

We’ve started a new design + build project set on more than 40 acres on what was once a winery. With long territorial views, it is one of the most stunning sites we’ve had the chance to work on. From the beginning, the biggest priority for the homeowners was preserving the view, so every part of the design is centered around keeping those long, open vistas completely unobstructed.

The home is designed in a modern agrarian style that blends naturally with the surrounding landscape, using warm, natural materials and architecture that feels integrated with the land. Outdoor living will play a big role in this project, with plans for a sunken fire pit, lap pool, unique pergolas, and generous covered porches designed for taking in the scenery year-round.

We can’t wait to share more as the project takes shape.
