Congratulations are in order for Judson Butler ‘26, who just graduated from George Steven’s Academy! Judson is the very first recipient of the Michael Hewes Memorial Scholarship.
Hewes & Company created this scholarship in honor of our founder, Michael Hewes, after his passing. The scholarship will be awarded to a GSA graduate who plans to pursue a career in the trades, and the scholarship is intended to provide the recipient with tools to help jumpstart their career. It’s a tangible way to set the recipient for success!
Michael Hewes believed in hard work and superior craftsmanship, and he believed in giving back to his community. We are proud to deliver this scholarship to such a worthy recipient in his name. Judson has already apprenticed as an electrician, and he will attend Washington County Community College to attain his electrician’s degree. His eventual goal is to become a Master Electrician.
Thank you, too, to George Stevens Academy GSA and Hammond Lumber Company for supporting us in the setup of this important community scholarship.
Hewes & Company is employee-owned.
