On an opossum release tonight we saw not one but two plain bellied water snake babies. These guys were definitely born a little earlier than usual in the season. Still a super cool find. Fun fact water snakes give birth to live babies. No need for relocation in this situation just an opportunity to take some pictures and then left so they could go on their way.

Hello, now that we are getting into spring time where more wildlife is seen and encountered. We wanted to post a few updates. We have recently moved to the Anna area so we now have a bigger area that we service. We are currently looking for help in the Salina prosper area, specifically relocating snakes for people . so if you or someone you know, lives in that area and would like to join our team, please feel free to reach out and we can go over what’s needed and if it’s a right fit for you. We are still offering reptile encounters for educational events or parties. One of our cool “staff” is our beautiful black and white Tegu in the picture below. She was one of our rescues last year and decided that she would be a perfect fit to stay with us and help with further education if you would like to meet her feel free to reach out. we are happy to be a part of this community and are so grateful for all donations. It helps keep us going. We are a non profit organization and couldn’t do it without y’all’s support. Thank you for being a part of our journey.

Today, we undertook the relocation of a plain-bellied water snake. Despite the snake's uncooperative nature, my son assisted me in capturing some close-up photographs. As is evident, these snakes exhibit defensive behavior, angling their heads and striking frequently. However, they pose no threat to pets or humans, and are often mistakenly identified as water moccasins. Both species play a vital role in our ecosystem. It is essential to provide snakes with sufficient space to move along, eliminate food and shelter sources, and seek professional assistance when necessary for identification or relocation purposes.

Interesting call today. A juvenile western rat snake had found its way into a birds nest 20 feet off of the ground. Scaring the birds and causing some chaos. Had to call Rhino Brothers a Celina local Handyman service to our aid to help get to the snake. Huge shout out to the guys for taking time out of their day to help. Safely relocated this snake away from homes and businesses.

So as some of you may know, I have started working with North Texas Wildlife Center in Plano. I will continue to help relocate snakes in the Celina and surrounding areas, as well as work alongside NTWC with other calls and help with rehabilitation. They are in desperate need of a new facility and are looking for land or donations to help purchase a bigger facility. I appreciate your continued support and if you feel led to give please follow the link on this post!

Saw a local post a little late. Showed up and it was so great to see another lady there with her boys. He had gotten himself in a tight spot. With everyone’s help we were able to move this western rat snake to an area further away from people. He was a very healthy 5’ snake who was in active shed. Love seeing people, especially with kids teaching and protecting wildlife.

Available anytime in Celina and surrounding areas.

Met a wonderful lady in Anna yesterday, whose daughter stood up to two men torturing a snake ultimately trying to kill it afterwards. The young lady brought him home where mom was able to reach out to ask the community for help. I was able to help transport him to a facility that will hopefully be able to rehabilitate or last measure euthanize humanly.

Two lacerations on the jaw, dislocated and limited jaw movement, and spinal breaks.

This is a harmless western rat snake, nicknamed PapaJohn, who was probably just looking for his next meal. Every animal carries an important role in our ecosystem. Our ecosystem is part of our continued survival. I believe that God created each person down to the smallest creature for a purpose.

This is why we do what we do. We want to help educate and in some cases relocate to help prevent situations like this. I want to thank everyone who played a role in getting this snake the care he needs and for my communities continued donations and support.
