ADU construction in Purcellville continues

This falls under stuff happens. I showed up a few minutes after the delivery driver. He got a little lazy and instead of pulling the truck up and over to access the other side from the pavement with the Moffit (forklift) he decided to drive it in the neighbor's yard. As you can see there is a bit of damage. We were able to get him pulled out then I had to run to get the kids from camp, back to the house for football practice gear for one and sleepover bag for the other. Got my son dropped off at practice and my daughter dropped off at her friend's house. Then back to the site to clean the mud off of the street. Then back to the house for my son's cleats he forgot and back to practice. All after 5 on a Friday. Sometimes our Fridays are our Mondays. It's not fun dealing with snafus but it's how you deal with the problems when they arise. I spoke to the neighbor who's yard is damaged and our client and although not happy with the situation they appreciated that I came to them with a solution. I have our landscaper showing up tomorrow morning early to make the repairs, I didn't want it sitting like that over the weekend.
Stuff happens, especially in construction type activities, and when it does the mark of a good contractor is how they deal with it. Blame game and excuses = sign of a guy that won't be in business for long. Taking accountability, owning the mistake, and taking immediate corrective actions = someone you want to be in business with.
