When it comes to storm preparedness in the , your plan should already be in place well before the weather arrives.

Five days out, watch official updates and review your plan. Now is a good time to get sandbags, clean out vehicles. Cut the Grass. Pay all the bills. Remove whatever other to-do's you can from the list.

Three days out, At this point you are watching the forecasts and deciding if you are staying or going... secure outdoor living areas, clear drainage, and bring loose items inside. Secure your storm shutters.

If you are staying then you are gathering fuel, supplies, food and If you are going you are gathering documents, medications, clothes, valuables and evacuation details.

24/48 hours out, finish the work and follow local guidance. Watch TV.

A prepared home does not happen in a rush. It happens through calm, steady decisions made before the weather arrives.
