We’ve got a new startup in Boca that we’re working on 😎

When your pool gets a beautiful new finish, the work isn’t done. The next 30 days determine whether your surface lasts 15 years or fails in 5.

Here’s what this intensive process involves:

🖌️ Brushing: Calcium rises to the surface during curing and must be brushed away before it hardens into permanent scale.

📊 pH Management: Keep pH at 7 to dissolve excess calcium instead of letting it scale onto your new finish.

🧹 Filter Cleaning: New plaster releases massive amounts of calcium particles. Filters need cleaning 2-3x per week initially.

💧 Water chemistry balancing: Precise alkalinity, hardness, and chlorine levels throughout the cure period.

What happens without proper startup:
❌ Permanent white/gray scale that can’t be removed
❌ Mottled discoloration across the entire surface
❌ Surface fails years earlier than it should
❌ Equipment damage from calcium buildup

When we rolled up to one of our newer accounts this week, something immediately caught our eye — white buildup collecting on the bottom of the pool.

That’s usually a dead giveaway:

👉 The salt cell is dirty and starting to scale up.

So why did this happen?

The previous company had been running the pH way too high, which is a fast track to heavy scaling inside the salt cell.

When the cell gets coated, it can’t produce chlorine efficiently — and the leftover minerals fall right to the bottom.

We got the cell cleaned, balanced the water chemistry, and brought everything back to standard.

A clean salt cell =
✔ clearer water
✔ proper chlorine production
✔ less wear on your equipment
✔ a longer-lasting system overall

Your pool always knows what kind of weekend you had 🎉

Even if the water still looks clear on Monday, here’s what’s actually floating around after a couple days of guests, beach runs, and cannonballs:

🧴 Sunscreen & tanning oils
💇 Hair gel, makeup, self-tanner
🍹 Sugars from drinks + cocktails
🏖️ Sand and salt from the beach
👶 Lotions + kid contaminants
💦 pH swings from heavy swimmer load
⚡ Chlorine levels tanking within hours
