That is not just one iguana. That is the next wave of the problem.

This female iguana was carrying **48 eggs**.

That means one iguana had the potential to turn into dozens more — digging burrows, eating landscaping, leaving droppings, spreading along canals, damaging seawalls, and moving through nearby yards and HOA common areas.

This is why waiting can get expensive.

Most property owners call when they start seeing several iguanas, but by then the problem may already be multiplying.

If you are seeing iguanas around your yard, seawall, canal, pool, roofline, landscaping, or community property, now is the time to act.

A lot of people think iguana removal and iguana control mean the same thing. They do not.

Removal is taking the animals off the property. Control is the bigger strategy that helps reduce the chance the problem keeps repeating. If iguanas keep coming back, you may not just need removal. You may need real control.

Most homeowners do not realize that damaged plants are often one of the first visible signs of an iguana problem. When iguanas start tearing into ornamentals like bougainvillea, they are not just passing through. They are feeding, returning, and learning that your property offers an easy food source. We explain that in our Iguana Knowledge Center in our page on landscaping damage: https://iguanagoneremoval.com/iguana-knowledge-center/iguanas-and-landscaping-damage and in our page on what iguanas eat: https://iguanagoneremoval.com/iguana-knowledge-center/what-do-iguanas-eat. If your landscaping is being chewed up, do not wait until the damage spreads to more of the yard. Call Iguana Gone Removal and Prevention.

A lot of times, by the time somebody calls me, they’ve already been seeing signs for a while and just weren’t sure what they were looking at.
Fresh digging, burrow holes, droppings in the same area, damage around beds or seawalls, and the same few spots getting used over and over usually tells me it’s more than just a random iguana passing through.
That’s usually how it starts. Then one day the homeowner realizes it’s happening a lot more often than they thought.
If that sounds familiar around your property, a good place to start is our page on the common signs of iguana activity:

Ever seen iguanas fall out of trees? 🦎
It actually happens during cold weather.
When temperatures drop, iguanas slow down and can lose their grip — but that doesn’t always mean they’re dead.
Most of them recover once it warms up.
We explain why this happens here:
