This pond hadn't run for years— it leaked, was choked with debris, and overrun by plants. At first, we considered a full rebuild, but that quickly proved to be out of budget. So instead, we set our sights on giving it a solid facelift.
It didn’t take long to realize just how big of a job that would be.
We started pulling out all the large stones to get access to the liner beneath—and once we saw what was under there, it felt like we were doing a rebuild anyway. The pond was buried under at least a foot of muck and debris. As we cleared it out, we also discovered several leaks that needed sealing.
After a lot of dirty work, we got everything cleaned, patched, and ready to go. Then came the fun part—rebuilding the rock work and bringing the pond back to life.
Here’s the finished result.
