PROTECT THE FOUR P’S: PEOPLE, PETS, PIPES, & PLANTS. 🧒🧒🐱🐕🐶🚰🚰🪴🪻🌱

People: Keep warm, stay inside, if possible. If you need to go out, dress in layers and wear hats, gloves and an appropriate coat. Avoid overexertion, as cold weather puts added strain on your body.

Pets: Bring pets inside, and move other animals or livestock to sheltered areas. Keep adequate food and water available.

Pipes: Disconnect outdoor hoses; drain and store in protected area. Wrap exposed faucets and pipes - including those outside the house or in unheated crawl spaces, attics, garages and other areas.

If you do have a pipe burst, quickly turn off your water supply.

Plants: Bring potted plants inside or store in garage near interior wall to provide extra warmth and protection from wind.

For cold-sensitive outdoor plants, put down extra mulch and consider covering with a cloth fabric of some kind to shield the plants from wind and frost.

WARMING CENTERS
Availability: Beginning Sunday, January 14 night at 9:00 PM through Wednesday, January 18 morning at 8:00 AM

Bexar County residents are welcome at any warming center.

These locations are safe, accessible, and equitable facilities where residents can obtain information and resources in times of need.

These locations will have access to basic needs/supplies, shelter from the severe cold, access to power & device charging, and free wi-fi.

Select your general region on the map or use the region list. You can also find your region by searching via zip code. The next page will allow you to search for plants by specific characteristics, or view all plants for the particular region.

BOERNE is in Stage 2 Water Restrictions.

What does that mean for residents?

You are permitted to use individual sprinklers or sprinkler systems for lawns, gardens, or other landscaped areas on one designated weekday. On these days you can only water before 11 a.m. and after 7 p.m.

Residents can water by hand with a hose or bucket at any time.

Designated watering days are assigned according to the last number of the street address as follows:

0 or 1 – Monday
2 or 3 – Tuesday
4 or 5 – Wednesday
6 or 7 – Thursday
8 or 9 – Friday
