The key takeaways from each filter are:

✔️DE filters have the best water clarity but require the most upkeep
✔️Sand filters have the worst water clarity (but it’s still good!) while requiring the least upkeep
✔️Cartridge filters are in the middle in terms of water clarity and maintenance

An easy way to understand the differences in water clarity between the different filter types is this:
✔️If you were to throw a quarter into the deep end of a pool, you’d be able to tell there’s a coin down there with a sand filter.
✔️With a cartridge filter, you would be able to tell what type of coin it is (a quarter).
✔️And with a DE filter, you would be able to tell if it is heads up or heads down.

So how do you add an air pillow to your pool? Follow along for 5 easy steps to make sure your pool is ready to weather out the rest of the winter ❄️.
Step 1️⃣= Inflate the pillow to about 70% of it’s capacity, don’t fill it all the way up or it won’t be able to compress.

Step 2️⃣: Tie your string through the corner gromets of the air pillow. We suggest a nylon or other similar string that will not easily break over the winter.

Step 3️⃣: Position the pillow in the middle of the pool (you can use a broom or pole to help you get it to the middle) and then secure the loose ends of the string to the edge of the pool. We usually tie it around the rail caps. ⚠️Important to remember: don’t tie the string too tight, if you do it could snap as the cover is weighed down with water.

Step 4️⃣: Place the cover over the pool and the pillow. This step may take an extra set of hands to avoid getting water on top of the cover.

Step 5️⃣: Secure your cover with whichever method you use, cable and winch or water bags. And that’s it! By keeping your air pillow inflated and in the middle of the pool you will help protect your pool from damage and make it easier on yourself to clear off the cover all season.
