When every plant is different the eye doesn't know where to rest.

The fix:
→ Choose 3 to 5 plants you love and repeat them throughout
→ Use variety as an accent, not the foundation

Repetition creates rhythm. Rhythm makes a small space feel calm and intentional.

Privacy doesn't always mean a fence.
This narrow side yard gets a fragrant climbing rose on a portable trellis — beauty and privacy in one, without losing the space. The roses will fill in over time, softening the boundary and adding scent through the season.

Still to come: layered plantings in front of the laurels to break up the rigid line and bring in an organic, flowing feel. The kind of garden that draws you in and makes a small space feel like it goes on forever.
