Using a high density LiDAR collection, we developed a complete grading plan for this commercial pad site. The design included a stripped surface, fill surface, and finished base surface, each with accurate earthwork quantities to help plan construction and material needs.

The site was graded to provide positive drainage, with a driveway designed to tie smoothly into the highway using appropriate radii and elevations for safe access.

By combining LiDAR with CAD design, we provide contractors and developers with construction ready deliverables that reduce uncertainty before work begins.

Design is only part of the job, verifying the work is just as important.

For this active construction site, we captured a high precision LiDAR scan and compared the current surface against the contractor’s plans he is building from. The result was an accurate picture of where the project stood, including remaining cut and fill, completed areas, and the volume of material still required to reach final grade.

Instead of relying on estimates, the contractor had measurable data to track progress, verify earthwork, and make informed decisions.

Before any grading, drainage, or design can begin, engineers need an accurate representation of the land.

For this ~ 150 acre development site, we collected high density aerial LiDAR and produced a detailed topographic surface complete with contours, breaklines, roadway features, ponds, and drainage channels. These deliverables were provided to the project engineer as the foundation for hydraulic analysis, drainage design, and future site development.

Accurate terrain data means better designs, fewer surprises in the field, and more informed decisions from day one.
