Things I look for when auto sexing CCLs.
#1 Yellow spot on head?
If yes, probably a rooster
#2 Does the eyeliner go from beak to the outside of the eyes like eyeliner?
If yes, Probably a pullet
#3 Is the chipmunk mark from the head to the b***y vivid?
If yes, and has good eyeliner...it's 💯pullet

*Roosters dont have a vivid chipmunk marking.
*Rooster always have a yellow dot, but a pullet could just not as often.
*Roosters know who they are as young men, they dont wear eyeliner!

Test time ID these for me...

Last hatch in this Smart Incubator. It has been such a great incubator to have. Todays hatch was successful. 9 babies total. 1 Silverudd, 2 kikis, 3 Cream Legbar roos, and 3 Cream Legbar Pullets. God is Good!

Yeah, you know it was bound to happen sooner or later. These are all crosses. Some will be brown layers some green. There could be a Silverudd or 2 in there, but otherwise all a mix match. The front row browns came From Coop to Calling in Sherman, the next row of greens from the J6, the 3rd row is partial J6 and the remaining is from Baylie Annison in Paris. I cannot wait to see these babies hatch.

Silver-Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben are really here at the J6!

I was overjoyed with the enthusiasm recently on Appenzeller Spitzhaubens post here on the J6. I was not planning on raising them, but happened upon a lady who was rehoming this guy....I couldn't pass him up. So if the the heat of the summer or the brrr of the winter doesn't harm the birdies, this Spring there should be Appenzeller Spitzhauben chicks and hatching eggs available. So dust off your incubators, pray for the birdies in the horrible weather and be watching for updates. I am just giddy about this.
