With really cold temperatures in the forecast make sure your outside hoses are unhooked. It doesn’t matter how well your house is insulated or what kind of water spigot you have, if you leave the hose hooked up it can freeze and bust!!! Most of the time when it happens you will have no idea until you try to use your spigot and it floods your wall or basement. We see this EVERY Spring!!! UNHOOK your hoses!!!

This is a blow-off I’ve posted before but this time I circled the nail placement to show why it happened. Notice how high the red circled nails were installed. The green ones are the new shingle. Nailed here, the shingles will stay, even on a wall.
