We’ve been busy! Four guys, two hours. Here are a couple short sections of cedar fence in Ames, IA, that were installed along a patio for some added privacy in the back yard.

Our cedar fence installs are done on 10’ Postmaster steel posts which come with a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty. We use a grade 1 western red cedar picket and a choice of smooth or rough-sawn cedar 2x4” rails. We attach pickets with stainless steel nails to prevent rust streaking, which will happen if hot-dipped galvanized nails are used to install the pickets. We then cover the steel posts with 1x8” western red cedar for a finished look.

We’ve been busy this month! We knocked out numerous jobs over the weekend in Winnebago, IL. Installed couple 4’ black chain link fences and replaced some galvanized fence wire. One black chain link job was roughly 170’ with a double gate and a service gate, and the other job was sealing up the yard with approximately 25’ of fence and two service gates. Each gate is fabricated to the grade changes of the yard for security and a streamlined look.

All residential chain link fences are installed on 8’6” SS20 pipe, which is more robust than the standard residential-grade pipe. All pipe is driven 4+ feet into the ground, eliminating frost heave while keeping heavy equipment out of the yard. Ditch the concrete for more rigid pipe. No digging and no dirt means a cleaner, more efficient install!

Another backyard in Boone, IA, is now safe for the pups to play! We removed a couple of bushes and a bunch of hostas along the garage, then installed about 160 feet of 4’ black chain link fence, along with a service gate and a double gate!

It started with removal of a faltering fence, some grading of the yard, and installation of 4’ black chain link, including a double gate across the the driveway, and about 180 feet of 6’ western red cedar on black Postmaster posts! It turned out great! And Arlo the Doberman now has a place to safely run and play!

We installed a fence for these clients during the fall of 2024, and they had us come back to complete the north fence line in their back yard this summer. We removed a decades-old wooden fence, did some grade work, installed 150 feet of western red cedar picket fence, and added a 54” wide gate in the plans!

160’ of black chain link, including three service gates. As always, 8 gauge wire mesh, SS20 pipe, and 8 gauge tension was installed, making this fence significantly more robust than a standard residential install.
