Looks like we are going to have our first HOT weather of the season. Its very important to make sure your new veggies have plenty of water during this heatwave. Your container plants and hanging baskets will dry out very fast. It looks like Spring is here. It looks like people are loving this nice weather as our phone have been ringing off the hook. We love that everyone is getting back out in their yards. The delivery times are starting to extend out. We are working hard to have all of our products in stock and get them delivered quickly for you. We have everything available for pick up also so if you are able to pick it up come on in and we will get you loaded and o your way.

I am guessing that winter is over ! Lets get Spring going and enjoy this sunny weather coming our way. These nice days are a great time to get out and clean up all of the leaves and debris left in your yard. Its also time to pull weeds and prepare your yard and garden for plantings. Its still to early for most plants but as the weather warms its time to add compost to your garden and planting beds.

A few things have changed this year. We have added a tad bit more topsoil to our 4 way soil mix as well as boosting the amount of composted cow manure to add more nutrients. We had a little issue mid year last year with having a low nitrogen count in the mix and have changed it a bit to aid in the growth of your plants and vegetable's. At our Portland office we are going to test a new potting mix in March. The new mix will have topsoil, composted cow manure, bark compost, sand, dirt huggers compost and pumice. The mix will be for pick up only right now as we won't have allot on hand, you will be able to get 5 gallon buckets of it or recycling bins and also 1 or 2 cubic foot bags that you can bag yourself. We should have it by the 1/2 yard and full yard for scooping into your truck or trailer. I will be having it tested when it is finished there will be a test analysis sheet at our counter.

Fall is here and we are ready to help you stay warm this winter. We have Kiln dried Maple firewood for pick up and delivery. Give us a call if you need some firewood delivered or come on by if you would like to pick some up. We also have Purcell pellets and North Idaho 8lb Energy logs in stock for pick up. If you are needing bedding pellets for your animals we also carry those at our Boring location.

Things are changing a little around here. We have changed our name just a bit. Our customers frequently ask about our name being a fuel company, when you started in business 106 years ago things were much different as there was no bark. We have evolved into the largest bark and compost supplier in the city thanks to all of our great customers and it was time to update our name. We are the same company that we have always been and still a family run and owned business that is now in its 5th generation. Mt. Scott Bark is a simple name like we are so we hope people can find us easier and it represents what our main product is now. We will continue to supply firewood, pellets and Prestologs also and our roots are deep in the fuel business.

What a great summer we have had. Thank you to all of our new customers as well as our long time customers for making this a great year so far. Looks like a little rain this weekend which is defiantly needed. Its time to start thinking about your fall plantings and next month will be a perfect time to start or renovate your lawn. We are quickly approaching Fall and Winter, its a great time to get your firewood ordered and put away. We have some nice kiln dried Maple currently.

Spring is here !!! Looks like some warm weather is on tap for us so please place your orders for delivery early as we will fill up fast. We have all of our product available for pick up also. It's time to get outside and shake off the winter blahs.

Good new is that the firewood situation is getting better. We now have some kiln dried Fir firewood for pick up and delivery.

We have gotten in some Seasoned Fir Firewood. We are not sure when any of the kiln dried wood will be back in due to a fire at the kilns.
