Last Friday, the Ampion team gathered for the highly anticipated annual summer outing at Cathleen Stone Island in Boston Harbor. The day was filled with outdoor activities, a lobster bake, a boat ride in Boston Harbor, and celebrating our achievements in 2026 to date. 🦞 ⛴️ ☀️

Bringing together Ampionites from across the country, the event was a fantastic opportunity to step away from our screens, enjoy the warm weather, and connect. It was great to meet all of our new hires, too!

The Ampion team has worked hard to scale in each of our markets, leveraging our purpose-built platform to bring clean energy savings to thousands of Americans—and industry-leading subscription management capabilities to our clients!

⚡ American clean energy policy is facing a gridlock, but the solution doesn't have to be a zero-sum game.

We are thrilled to share our latest editorial in North American Clean Energy, authored by Ampion's Regulatory Policy Analyst Emma Søndergaard Jensen and General Counsel & SVP Chris Kallaher.

In "Powering the Inevitable: A ‘no regrets’ case for distributed energy," Emma and Chris outline how expanding Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), like and , can sustainably meet the skyrocketing energy demands of AI data centers while keeping power affordable and reliable for everyday consumers.

Discover the four "no regrets" actions policymakers can take to build a fairer, more resilient grid.

Ampion team members Sandy Kick and Brian Kick are participating again this year in the Ride for Roswell, an annual bike ride in Upstate New York that raises money for cancer research. They are riding the 45-mile route that passes by a number of farms that Ampion manages on behalf of our clients.

Many of these sites host ECLIPSE subscribers. The Erie County Low Income Program for Sustainable Energy (ECLIPSE) is an Erie County, NY program that enables income-eligible residents to benefit from Community Solar savings. Learn more about ECLIPSE: https://ampion.net/about/blog/ampion-erie-county-ny-bring-community-solar-savings

In 2024, Ampion was selected as the official Community Solar provider of the Erie County Low Income Program for Sustainable Energy (ECLIPSE). In addition to the environmental benefits, these projects provide up to 20% savings on residents’ electricity bills.

“ECLIPSE seeks to lower the energy burden for households that need relief while expanding access to renewable power,” said Sarah Sanford, Senior Energy Development Specialist and ECLIPSE Coordinator. “Our results show what’s possible when local government, community organizations, and renewable energy providers work together. Ampion has been an important partner in helping us scale quickly and ensure that community solar is accessible to the people who need it most.”

A number of the ECLIPSE subscribers live in the Fruitbelt neighborhood in Buffalo near Roswell Park Hospital. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and said, "Hello" at our events on Saturday in Baltimore and Severna Park! We loved meeting you!
In Severna Park, we were joined by Ampion, and folks that stopped by learned how easy it is to sign up for and save $$$ on your energy bill. (see link below).
And thanks again to Friends of Patterson Park and Good Neighbors Group for doing the heavy lifting and bringing the events to life.

📈 As electricity rates continue to rise due to grid infrastructure investments and surging demand, Community Solar offers a much-needed solution. A WHYY story highlights Ampion's partnership with our solar developer client, Dimension Energy, as we work together to bring renewable energy savings to the Wilmington, Delaware community.

💵 Ampion's CEO & Founder, Nate Owen, emphasizes that we are seeing unprecedented upward pressure on energy prices—largely driven by capacity auctions—and believes Community Solar is the only effective solution to provide immediate relief to consumers while stabilizing the grid.

☀️ Brandon Smithwood, VP, Policy at Dimension Energy, told WHYY about the speed at which can become available. Unlike traditional large-scale power plants, Community Solar projects can be built quickly, helping the grid keep pace with demand and providing savings of approximately 10 to 20% for local subscribers.

🌎 But it’s about more than just the savings. As a Wilmington subscriber, Brice Shirbach, puts it: "Going to a hybrid car is great, or using energy-efficient light bulbs is great, but the steps we need to be taking as a society are of a much larger scale. So, when something like this becomes available, it’s exciting and an opportunity to jump at the chance."

Proponents of community solar energy say the initiative is a solution to rising costs of electricity.
