Great stone selections don’t happen by accident. They happen when you walk into the yard with floor stains, paint samples, and a clear picture of the home’s story. Natalie shares her top three tips for navigating a stone yard with intention: preparation, trend awareness, and the timeless pull of natural marble. Find what speaks to you, and you’ll enjoy it for a lifetime.

A special thanks to the amazing team at Cumar Marble and Granite.

This Osterville home was designed from the street up. Symmetry is the first thing you notice: matching columns, paired shutters, dormer windows centered above it all. HardiePlank lap siding, copper gutters, and classic window casings do the rest. A short walk to the beach, and it looks every bit the part.

Not every room needs to chase the light. This lower-level whiskey and listening room in a Back Bay condo was designed to lean into what the space naturally offers: darker, quieter, and tucked away. Built around the client’s love for whiskey and vinyl, the custom bar and display wall take center stage, with backlit millwork, maple countertops, and integrated LED shelving showcasing the collection. Invisible Sonance speakers and a Sonos system create a layered, immersive sound experience that makes every pour feel intentional. In a home full of open, formal spaces, this room gives you something rarer: a place to actually slow down.

Inside our South End penthouse renovation, the primary suite became a study in balance, creating both a serene bedroom retreat and a refined home office. A custom glass enclosure thoughtfully divides the two spaces while preserving the natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Layered neutrals, softened crimson accents, metallic ombré wallpaper from , and elegant teardrop pendants bring warmth, dimension, and cohesion to this luxury Boston condo.

The result is two distinct functions within one unified and beautifully considered space.

This Beacon Hill living room brings together refinement, sophistication, and a playful sense of ease. At the heart of the space is a suspended swinging bench by Brooklyn-based artist and designer , a sculptural moment that feels both relaxed and elevated. Steel cables wrapped in leather add a tailored, tactile detail, while custom wood and steel framing concealed within the ceiling provides the structural support needed to make the installation as secure as it is striking.

A calm, neutral palette keeps the room feeling serene, while the bold white-and-black stone fireplace surround brings depth, contrast, and a timeless focal point. Nearby built-ins offer a balance of storage and display, with closed cabinetry below and open shelving above for curated objects and personal pieces. Soft lighting completes the room, adding warmth to this inviting Beacon Hill space.

Back Bay doesn’t reveal its secrets easily. When we opened up the top floor of this townhouse, we found what decades of neglect had been hiding: compromised framing, dropped joists, and structural shortcuts that had to go. We rebuilt it from the bones up, turning the home’s biggest liability into its strongest asset.

The finishes tell the rest of the story. Calacatta Da Vinci stretches across the kitchen counters and climbs the full-height backsplash, finished with mitered edges and a clean undermount sink. In the living room, we let the original architecture lead, restoring the fireplace, elevating the millwork, and adding custom built-ins that frame the space with quiet symmetry.

This is the Back Bay standard: heavy lifting behind the walls, refined craftsmanship in front of them.

What was once a simple stone patio is now a fully realized extension of this home, designed for how the family actually lives.

Working alongside Elms Interior Design, we transformed this Needham backyard into a multifunctional, screened-in porch complete with an outdoor kitchen, dining area, lounge space, and fireplace. Wrapped in Benjamin Moore’s ‘Grenadier Pond’, the space feels both grounded and connected, blurring the line between indoors and out.

With retractable screens and integrated heaters, this porch is built for year-round entertaining, relaxing, and everything in between.

From first pass to final polish, this vanity tells the story of precision and restraint. The floating double vanity in warm UV maple grounds the space, while the crisp waterfall stone countertop wraps seamlessly into the backsplash, creating a continuous, sculptural plane. Integrated sinks and wall-mounted faucets keep the lines clean and uninterrupted, allowing the materiality to take center stage.

Paired with soft gray walls, tailored millwork, and herringbone white oak flooring, the result is a bathroom that feels both modern and enduring. What begins as raw structure evolves into a refined, light-filled composition, where every detail, from the rounded mirrors to the tailored sconces, contributes to a quiet, elevated sense of balance.
