We are overjoyed to announce that The Narrow Gate has merged with Joy Street Design to form a new Architecture and Interior Design firm, Joy Squared Design. By combining our two mission-driven firms and talented staff, we are expanding our impact within the communities where we work. With our combined technical resources, experience, and a shared commitment to practicing “Architecture for the Common Good,” Joy Squared is ready to meet the growing demand for our services with the same level of personal attention and design excellence our clients have come to depend on.

Kitty Ryan, Neal Mongold, and Robert Wegener join Sharon Gentges and Trea LaRaia of Joy Street Design to form the leadership team of Joy Squared, a Massachusetts-certified Women Business Enterprise. We can’t wait to introduce you to our new partners and share what it means to practice joyfully.

A recent TNG project was featured in the Boston Globe! Nurtury is launching the first Child Care Incubator in Massachusetts.

From Nurtury, “The incubator is designed to break down barriers for aspiring early childhood entrepreneurs who wish to open their own licensed, home-based FCC program but have struggled to find residential space that meets licensing requirements.”

Earlier this month, Coppersmith Village got solar panels! We often design buildings to be solar-ready when solar panels don't fit into the initial budget. It's great to see that design come to fruition! Congratulations, NOAH (Neighborhood of Affordable Housing)!

Last week was the Dedication Ceremony for Allston Brighton CDC's William E McGonagle Recovery House. The Narrow Gate's renovation of the building creates 14 units of affordable, supportive housing, along with space for supportive services. Thank you to everyone involved in the project!

Congratulations to NeighborWorks Housing Solutions on the ribbon cutting at Maple on Franklin! We're excited to help bring much-needed affordable, sustainable elderly housing to Holbrook Center with Holbrook's first Passive House development.
