One of our favorite things about what we do at Ceres is getting to see our greenhouses being put to good use, and our recent volunteer day at Bruce Randolph School in Denver was a perfect reminder of that. 🌱

While we were there, we sat down with Mariah Middlebrooks, Farm Educator at Bruce Randolph and the heart of the school's agricultural program. In this video, Mariah shares what educational opportunities the greenhouse creates for students and what happens to the greens and vegetables that are grown there.

We are so grateful to Mariah and the entire Bruce Randolph community for welcoming our team in and for partnering with Ceres on their educational greenhouse. Watching a facility like this one serve students and community in the way it was designed to - that's what it's all about.

Scenes from a great volunteer day at Bruce Randolph High School. 🌱

We got to spend time in their Ceres greenhouse - planting seedlings for the school's summer programs and harvesting veggies from the indoor hydroponic farm to be donated to the community.

A big thank you to Mariah, the school's farm educator, for putting us to work and giving us a window into what students have been building here - in the greenhouse and across their ag curriculum.

There's something special about getting to see our greenhouses in action and connect with our clients in a meaningful way. Days like this are why we do what we do. 🌿

Beyond the Structure: How Integrated Systems Define Greenhouse Performance
📅 May 14th | 12PM Mountain Time | Free & Live

If your greenhouse systems - HVAC, lighting, irrigation, fertigation - were each designed in isolation, your facility is likely leaving performance on the table. This webinar breaks down why systems integration matters and what it actually looks like in a high-performing greenhouse.

We'll cover the engineering principles behind it, the interfaces that make it work, and the real consequences of overlooking it. And as always, this is a live, interactive session — bring your questions or submit them in advance.

Whether you're in the market for a new greenhouse or wanting to optimize your current operation, this free event is for you!

You can expect our greenhouse experts to cover the following:

🌱What systems integration is and how it affects greenhouse performance
🌱How systems interact and how any disconnect can cost you
🌱What a well-integrated system looks like—the interfaces, communication, and sequencing that make it all work together
🌱The most common integration failures and how to avoid them in new builds and existing operations

The best classroom? One where students actually grow something. 🌱

We're proud to share one of our latest completed projects: an 18'x36' educational greenhouse for Central Wyoming College, built to support their Regenerative Food Systems degree and certificate programs.

Funded through the Wyoming Innovation Partnership and developed in collaboration with the University of Wyoming, this year-round facility gives students hands-on experience across three core areas: seedling production for the outdoor farm, hydroponic fruiting crop production using a bato bucket system alongside an existing container farm, and independent research and lab space for student-led projects.

The side-by-side exposure to multiple growing technologies, including both a container farm and a Ceres greenhouse, gives students a broader foundation for wherever their agricultural careers take them.

Regenerative agriculture and controlled environment agriculture aren't opposites. They reinforce each other. And students who understand both are well-positioned for a modern agricultural workforce.

The facility is equipped with a SunSense™ controller, our GAHT® (ground-to-air heat transfer system), wet wall evaporative cooling, insect screens, and HAF fans - everything needed to run efficiently through Wyoming's demanding Climate, year-round.

A greenhouse isn't just a structure. It's a system - and most facilities underperform because they're not treated that way.

📅 May 14th | 12PM Mountain Time | Live & Interactive

Too often, critical systems like HVAC, lighting, irrigation, and fertigation are designed and operated in isolation. The result? A facility that works in parts but falls short as a whole. This session breaks down what true systems integration looks like, the engineering principles behind it, and the real consequences of overlooking it.

Bring your questions, this is a live session and we want to hear from you.

A structure that’s easy to build isn’t always one that supports long-term success. Temperature swings, humidity issues, inefficient systems, and poor layout decisions can all impact your operation after construction is complete.

That’s why taking a feasibility-first approach is critical.

At Ceres, we offer greenhouse consulting services designed specifically for commercial greenhouse projects. Our team works with growers early in the process to evaluate designs, model performance, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and align the facility with production goals.

From climate systems and airflow to workflow and operational costs—we help you think through the details before they become expensive problems.

If you're planning a new greenhouse or expanding your operation, investing in early consulting can save time, money, and headaches down the road.

☀️ Glazing defines how a greenhouse performs, yet greenhouses are rarely discussed or marketed based on how much usable light they actually deliver.

Our last webinar compared glazing options in real-world conditions, and covered what operators and investors should consider before making a decision that impacts long-term performance.

Light drives performance ☀️ But how often do we evaluate greenhouses based on how much usable light they actually deliver?

Join us for the next Greenhouse Q&A as we break down one of the most important design decisions in greenhouse construction: glazing materials.

We’ll explore how glazing impacts light transmission, energy efficiency, maintenance costs, and ultimately crop quality and returns. Whether you're operating an existing facility or planning a new build, this session will give you a clear framework for evaluating long-term performance.
