We have finally had a bit of cooler weather in Boulder this week. Perfect for snuggling up on the outdoor patio complete with fireplace, heater, and outdoor tv.

Spaces like these extend the home for many months of the year.

We always study a building site to understand the impacts of the sun, wind, topography, neighboring buildings, access, and all the elements that impact a successful design. But when the site also offers views of the Boulder Flatirons, we undeniably find inspiration.

Excited to share photos of a recently completed new home we designed in South Boulder. The home was pushed back on the site to preserve two mature trees in the front yard, while still providing generous outdoor rear living spaces on two levels to take advantage of privacy and Flatiron views. The open plan brings daylight into every space, and tucked-away spaces like a mud room, pantry and powder room bring efficiency and function. The team at BV Builders brought it all together with finishes and high quality construction.

Quick before-and-after of this pop-top addition. We added an upper level to accommodate growing space needs, plus a cozy front porch, while respecting the overall design of the home that was previously nicely remodeled.

Remodels are always tricky for various reasons, but the team did a great job protecting the existing home while expanding it, and keeping things moving smoothly.

Looking forward to our clients settling into their expanded home, and we will share more photos in the future!
