If you hadn’t seen the news it’s been about 2 months since my neighbors crashed through and destroyed my shop. It was heart breaking and simply destroyed my space that I’ve been building and improving for years. I haven’t had any motivation or energy to put it back together, until you feel this it’s hard for me to put into words. So for those that always follow along, the companies I work with and most importantly those that I’ve made friends with I feel I’ve let you down and just abandoned apart of me that finds joy and happiness. A special thank you to my wife for pushing me to get back out here and make this my space again. Some things cannot simply be replaced that were broken, being made by community members that no longer come in instagram and hold high sentimental value. A check can only bring you so far… so I’m here and it’s time to put the effort forward and put the workshop back together.

So it’s been a week since the shop was wrecked, if you didn’t see my other post last Tuesday my neighbors crashed their car into my shop. Shockingly the damage to my shop wasn’t as bad as we expected. The kids toys were mostly destroyed. A few things I’ve built for my shop storage wise were completely destroyed as well such as my custom grinder station. I had my planer and jointer on tool bases those were also mangled however the tools survived. Apart from having my shop inside out we are fortunate it wasn’t as bad as it looked. Tomorrow the new door will be put up and I can start putting my shop back together. The table saw from is a bit banged up and I’ll have to assess the integrity of the fence. It’s old but holds more sentimental value than anything. Most of my rubber flooring was also destroyed so that will have to be replaced as well. I lost a few work pieces I was working on as well. All in all as traumatic as it was for all of us involved in just happy that everyone was safe and the damage wasn’t structural. Thanks for everyone’s best wishes that checked in and now guess what!?! We get to rebuild the shop! I’ll be checking in and keeping you guys updated with the changes! I’ll accept any tool shop fixture donations too 😉😉 I’m kidding!

Not a brand we typically see here on IG, you can get these off Amazon. These Italian made hammers have decent quality, not if what you get from a Germany but much better than chinesium. This engineers hammer is around $25, I have noticed consistency across their products isn’t always the same, some come off crisper than others but all around in happy to have them in my hand. They range from these style hammers, to ball pein and club hammers, give them a shot!

I always like to check my stationary tools before I use them. This little square from Bridge City Tools resides around my drill press. Only a few seconds can save hours of fixing mistakes. Whether is a drill press or a table saw or whatever your using, make sure she’s dialed in!
