It’s Friday, and the last big holiday of summer. The season flew by and it was amazing. I learned tons, I killed less ( but yes, I killed a few sweet peas, it just happens) I was able sneak away for a couple of weekends. Now to try and get the rest of the sweet peas harvested, threshed, cleaned and packaged before the weather turns. I did make a little time to stroll the gardens and pick just a few flowers for myself💗

The very best part of what I do. Some do wedding florals and I can actually say I’ve done some myself, but what I really love doing are these dog photo shoots. For the last three years I’ve paired with Adriana | Dog Photographer and we’ve done a little complimentary photo shoots for some pups in need. This year we did a little bit of both. A fundraiser for Old Dog Haven and we had three pups come down from EDirector Adopt a dog | Seattle + Bellingham + Skagit for a complimentary photo shoot to help get them adopted. Adrianna is an amazing photographer and really knows how to show the very best of them. (She also put together this reel)I blow through my flower field and harvest everything I can. And will be dropping a ton of her photos over the next few days. So much fun❤️♥️💗 ☀️

Just a few stunning dahlias to say good morning and have a happy Sunday. Fall is in the air, the days are getting shorter and the leaves are starting to fall. Cherish these last few Summer days while they are still hanging around

Another thing checked off my summer list. The days are flying by. As I’m knee deep in sweet pea seed harvest. I have noticed even though my flower field is w**d and powdery mildew happy. Disease and virus have been really minimal. I got on an every three week beneficial insect rotation from Sound Horticulture and my culling practices have been really strict. Even though I don’t run the large quantities that some of the other local farmers do, I try and focus on the health of my field. I’m also not deadheading but letting things go to seed. It will be interesting to see how this affects tuber production. More to come

I Love new varieties of dahlias and these ones from River Merle are truly special, the only thing I truly hate about it is the amount of documentation and pictures that need to be done. I thought I was about wrapped up with it for the year until I looked at my inventory list and realized how many I had left. Woopsy on my part. I’ve been knee deep in sweet pea harvest and have neglected that part of farming. Let the fun begin♥️💗❤️

Anyone interested in some plants. I simply have way more than I need and I’m moving some things around. All these guys are super healthy and are on thier 2nd year blooming. I have Skyler Veronica in pink and white, along with cosmopolitan and coral hypericum. It’s a terrible time of year to transplant but they are free if you want to give it a try. What a day yesterday was. Soooo much stinking fun. Periodically I get together with Adriana of Adriana | Dog Photographer and we do a day of giving back. She does the amazing photography ( you will see at a later date) and I do the floral backdrop, Yesterday Old Dog Haven received 100% of the proceeds from the photoshoot, my mother sponsored 3 hard to adopt residents from EDirector these pictures don’t do Adrianna’s work justice her talent is endless. I can’t wait to see what we do for next years photo shoot ❤️

After an amazing 5 days in Austin with my kids it’s time to hit the ground running. Sweet pea seed harvest this morning, laundry, groceries, start a flower harvest for an amazing photoshoot this weekend and sooo much more. Happy Hump Day everyone
