AI can process information. But what makes that information valuable? Context.
Engineering projects generate years of valuable information: inspection reports, meeting transcripts, repair decisions, testing results, specifications, and project updates. Too often, that information remains scattered across documents, spreadsheets, and files.
At SRI Consultants, we're exploring how AI can help turn these disconnected records into organized, searchable knowledge bases that make project information easier to find, understand, and use.
Consider a major condominium rehabilitation project with 83 meeting transcripts accumulated over 18 months. Using our locally operated AI workflow, we transformed those transcripts into 151 linked notes, connecting meetings, topics, locations, and people.
The result isn't simply a faster way to search documents. It's a more useful way to preserve project knowledge and make it accessible to the engineering team.
Our biggest takeaway? The AI model may change. The knowledge built around your projects remains valuable.
