Turns out you don’t need an architecture degree to help build a design tool. You just need to be five and love sandpaper.
We recently made a new batch of blocks for the Gratitude Village Colorado site workshop. Each piece is cut, sanded, and oiled by hand until it feels comfortable and familiar to hold.
This tactile kit helps people without a design background shape their own communities. Mahogany for housing, oak for commercial spaces, corduroy for gardens, leather for patios, and buttons for gathering nodes, every piece invites people to touch, move, and imagine.
