We’re thrilled to share that we’ve received an AIA Housing Award in the Community‑Engaged Design category from The American Institute of Architects

The award recognizes Bozeman Cohousing — the first net‑zero energy cohousing community in the U.S. Designed with future residents through a fully participatory process, the 43‑home community weaves affordability, sustainability, and belonging directly into its architecture.

We’re proud to be the first Montana-based firm to receive this honor, and only the second Montana project ever recognized in this category as well as the first ever recipient of the Community Engaged Design category.

This one means a lot to our team. Deep thanks to everyone who helped bring it to life. Check out the award details here: https://aia.secure-platform.com/a/gallery/rounds/789/details/72690

Thrilled to see this vision coming to life! 🙌 Congratulations to Helping Hands Healing Hearts on receiving a $250,000 grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, a huge milestone toward their new purpose-built community service facility in Ponderay, Idaho. The Daily Bee recently covered this exciting news, and we were thrilled to have our architectural rendering featured alongside the story! 🗞️ It is an honor to work on the design for a project rooted in such purpose. A campus built on hope, healing, and dignity for North Idaho and we can't wait to see it built. 🏗️✨ See the link below to read the full story!

This is exactly what this space was designed for! 🌿
This week we had the joy of hosting right here at and it could not have gone better. The space was full of incredible people, great conversation, and exactly the kind of energy this community is built for.
There is something really special about watching a space you designed come alive with people who are passionate about sustainability, connection, and building a better Bozeman.
A huge thank you to for sponsoring the event and making the night possible, we could not have done it without you! And thank you to everyone who came out, mingled, and made the night what it was. Here is to more nights just like this one!

Finally back home and settled in but we had the best time at the Cohousing Summit: Seattle! 🏡✨
This gathering brought together community builders, architects, housing advocates, and curious newcomers all united by one idea: that we are better together.
We loved connecting with so many passionate people exploring cohousing, pocket neighborhoods, co-ops, and beyond, and of course, having our own booth in the mix made it even more special! The summit organized by was beautifully co-chaired by the incredible Grace Kim and Mike Mariano of , and the energy throughout the day was nothing short of inspiring!

Bozeman's sustainability community is coming to us this evening! 🌱
We are so excited to be hosting this month's Green Drinks right here at Bozeman Cohousing! Green Drinks is a casual monthly get together that brings people together who care about sustainability, from NGOs and businesses to academics, locals, and everyone in between.
It is a great chance to catch up with familiar faces, make new connections, and swap ideas with people who are passionate about building a more sustainable future. No agenda, no formalities, just good conversation and good company.
And what better place to do it than a space literally designed around community and connection? We would love to see you there and show off this incredible project in person!
Bring a friend, bring a colleague, bring anyone who cares about sustainability in our community. Everyone is welcome! See you there!
A huge thank you to Visions Service Adventures for sponsoring this event and helping make it happen!

Through the Cohousing Summit with the National Cohousing Alliance, we had the incredible opportunity to tour some of the most inspiring cohousing communities in the Pacific Northwest! 🏡
Our journey took us across the region, starting with a deep dive into urban cohousing led by Grace Kim of Schemata Workshop, inc where we explored Capitol Hill Urban Cohousing, Jackson Place Cohousing, and Puget Ridge Cohousing. Next, we made our way to Vashon Island to visit a thriving cohousing community with over 30 years of history, a true testament to the staying power of intentional living. Over on Bainbridge Island, we toured Winslow Cohousing and a neighboring cottage community, exploring what cohousing looks like with a smaller footprint in a walkable, connected setting. Finally, to close out the summit, we joined our friend Bryan Bowen of Caddis Collaborative for a final community tour that brought us to Crow Woods, and Skagit Cohousing in Anacortes.
Each stop offered a unique lens on what community, design, and intentional living can look like, and left us more inspired than ever!

Hi, I’m Autumn Eastmark, and I’m excited to celebrate officially being with the team for one year! I am in my final year in the Masters of Architecture program at MSU after graduating with my bachelors last spring! I have an interest in community conscious design, sustainability, and cohousing. I reached out to Studio Co+Hab after meeting Erik at a MSU Mentorship dinner and learning about the amazing work they do. I started on as a summer intern but we decided to extend after a successful initial summer!

Cohousing Open House Weekend is this weekend!

From this delightful front porch in Bozeman to communities across the country, doors are open and neighbors are ready to welcome you in. This is a rare chance to see how these communities actually work day to day, not just how they look.

Think shared meals, spontaneous conversations, kids running between homes, and spaces designed to bring people together.

Zoning for belonging.

A couple of days ago, Erik gave a 30-minute tour at the request of the Hailey City Councilors on Bozeman Cohousing, focusing on the development process and social structure of cohousing. The discussion highlighted how the project’s community-driven design helped inform updates to Bozeman’s zoning code to better support affordable, community-oriented housing models.

The tour brought together a diverse group of local leaders, including mayors, city council members and county commissioners, united by a shared commitment to learning from one another and shaping stronger, more connected communities.
