My version of Skip trowel this how I was trained, some people do an another version of this with pan and knife that they also call Skip trowel.
Never really made sense to me calling something Skip trowel when you use a pan and knife.
I have heard my Skip trowel also called hawk and trowel. It’s a more rustic look it can be modified to have more or less voids and void depth and be slightly adjusted as well.
More voids with deeper depth can be great for places like log cabins or a home with a lot wood accents and less voids and less depths lends it self to a more modern sleek rustic look.
