We love Montana winters. Most of our team is busy skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, or finding any excuse to be outside, but when it comes to work, we get to work with the snow in a whole different way. From plowing with our full quiver of tools, to holiday light installs and takedowns, to wrapping trucks in the shop when the snow takes a break, we stay plenty busy until spring rolls around.

This holiday light season was a blast! We had three crews out from early October through the week before Christmas, making sure everyone’s lights were up and shining. We saw amazing displays, battled some wind, and enjoyed a fairly mild winter the whole time.

Now it’s time for takedowns! If you had your lights installed by Yard Guard, takedown is included in your service. Our team will carefully remove them, document exactly where everything goes for next year, dry them out, and store them safely at our shop in a coded bin, so you get the same lights and the same great service next season.

Our team is officially back in the office today and getting ready for the 2026 season. Holiday Light take-downs will begin this week, the snow crews are on call (hopefully we get snow soon) and our office team is busy renewing accounts and getting ready for 2026 prepay season! If you have any questions for us, our office hours are 8:00am-4:00pm Monday - Thursday.

Here’s a little secret we feel is important to share: when your trees are professionally lit, they should look like a starry night sky.

The lights should look natural, no pattern or circle wraps. Tree lighting is like the icing on the cake, the finishing touch that brings the whole display to life.

As we start to head into fall and winter, we want your lawn to always leave this current growing season and be well prepared for the next. It's why we always recommend a last application of fertilizer (remember your lawn still needs food over the winter) and dormant seeding it every other year or more often if your lawn has some sparse patches.
