One of the most rewarding parts of building custom homes is getting to know our clients. We love to learn about how they live and what brings them joy. At our Jewfish Key project, the client shared a funny story about their first visit to the island. The entire family came to the property during molting season for horseshoe crabs. The shoreline was filled with these archaic looking but harmless creatures. When we were trying to find some fun art to fun to add to the ground level - the Horsehoe Crab was the only option. We quickly engaged the talented Melanie Smith to work her magic. Isn't she lovely?
