Today we spent the morning replacing this fire pit cap at our customers air bnb. After about 6 years of enjoyment the cap had began to crack and was ready for a replacement.

We built this patio and fire pit about 6 years ago and even with heavy use/traffic is still looks as good as the day we built it

Another project completed! - Check out the before and after.
For this particular job, the customers sidewalk would hold water and was unusable any time it would rain. This happened due to inproper installation (specifically no base gravel).

Riverside removed the pavers, dug out for the base and re-installed everything to have the proper base and slope to allow for drainage. We had previously installed drainage at this property for all of the gutters, so we were able to tie into that to allow for even better drainage.

Typically we prefer to replace pavers when they are this old because if one breaks you typically can't find any to replace them, but the customer really liked the look of the old ones, so we reused them.

Our landscape crew knocked this one out of the park! They removed the customers old dying shrubs and replaced them with new plants. They installed a fresh layer of white stone to top it off.

Here is a recent landscape light installation we did (as well as full landscape replacement).

We're going to start periodically share plants we commonly use so that you as our customers can have a better understanding of some of the plants we may use on your project. For our first post we are choosing our personal favorite..

Catmint:

Catmint (aka Nepeta Walker Low) is one of our favorite things to plant. It is easy to maintain (cut low once a year), is deer resistant, and very hardy. It grows a beautiful purple flower and is the perfect plant to add some summer color to your landscaping. It is perfect for our temperamental West Virginia weather.

With spring in full swing, we are knocking out jobs left and right. This particular job was a routine cleanup and mulch. We pulled the weeds, removed any leftover leaves from fall, trimmed up all of their plants, re-edged the beds, and laid a nice fresh layer of mulch.

Before this we coordinated with Power Works Pressure Washing (we highly recommend them) to get the gutters cleaned and the house soft-washed. These three things in combination gave this house a nice clean look without the customer having to lift a finger.

We installed this customers landscape lights several years ago, which have been working well for the customer. Unlike solar lights these are designed to withstands years of use.

If you've been watching our daily videos you've already seen this one, but here is one of our full tear outs and re-landscapes we did last week.

Before:
This customer had ivy growing up her chimney and alongside the entire left side of their house, which we removed completely. Thier landscaping was old and overgrown and hiding the beauty of their home.

After:
We came in and tore everything out, starting with the landscaping and the ivy. We limbed up their trees that were growing onto the house and the limbs low to the ground so that the customer could mow close to it without getting knocked out by a branch! We disposed of all the material and filled in spots where necessary with top soil. We did a full landscape redesign and installation including adjusting the mulch beds to suite the customers request. We added a few things day-of, but at Riverside we are adaptable and able to adjust things to fit the customers needs. We installed new low-maintenance plants and a fresh layer of mulch that tied everything together nicely.

Here are the after pictures of one of our full landscape tearout/design/install from a few weeks back.

We were able to create landscape design which incorporated stepping pavers to create a short path connect the customers sidewalk with their back patio. We also installed landscape lighting to add beauty and visibility at night without overpowering the area.
