Start to finish on the Garrison Project!
Originally, the plan was to build a 970sqft patio.
Right from the jump, the plans changed as we were digging in a mud hole. We hit water at 16in!
After digging out all of the mud, the hole was left to dry for a couple days. When it dried enough, the area was raked and geo-textile fabric was laid under 4in of crushed rock.
On top of that, we have up to 10in of class2 material! The material was compacted every 4in in depth, making the base as hard as possible.
1in of granite sand was screeded over the class2 to lay pavers on and pavers were all cut to fit and tamped into the sand. Granite sand also filled the joints in the patio and it looks beautiful, especially when the sun hits it.
The columns, walls and steps were all built first to create the layout of the patio and we stretched it, turning it into a 1,251sqft patio!
The patio turned out solid!!
A custom fire pit was designed and cut by Metalwerx,Inc and we painted the ring honey glow brown, which also turned out amazing.
The project also got bigger!!
Before we started, you couldn't even see the dock from where the patio is sitting. There was an "island" of overgrowth surrounding a very old fire pit area.
Everything was completely removed including two heavily wooded areas around the house.
Boulders were brought in and 50ft of the shoreline was built.
Entire yard got tore up and all the existing rock beds were cleaned out and new rock was installed all the way around the house!
We had to bring in 6yds of river rock and spread it throughout the yard to give it stability and 3in of black dirt was spread over the top and prepped for sod.
About 4,500sqft of sod was laid and the rest will be hydroseeded.
This was a very fun project and we loved every minute of it!
Thank you Doug & Amy for this amazing opportunity to let us show you a little bit of what we can do! We also get to take care of the place and I'm sure there will be more updates to come.
We feel blessed! 🙌
