A fellow Valrico FishHawk Chamber of Commerce member had a water leak yesterday, and before we could start the dryout, we needed fast plumbing help. We called Heather Mershon and The GOAT Plumbing Company, and they jumped in right away 🙌

Motherhood doesn't always follow a blueprint. In our community of women in the trades, we know that "Mom" is a title earned through hard work, choice, and immense resilience.

Today, we’re honoring every woman in our group who balances the boots and the bottles, the blueprints and the bedtime stories. We want to hold space for the full spectrum of motherhood:

To our Step-Moms & Bonus Moms: You chose to step into the role and build a foundation of love. Your commitment is the glue that holds blended families together.

To the Moms Carrying Loss: We recognize the heavy lifting you do every day while carrying a heart that hurts. Your strength is seen, and your children are remembered.

To the Working Moms: To those of you juggling site visits, shifts, and school runs—you are showing the next generation exactly what a "woman's work" looks like.

Whether you are a mother by birth, by choice, or a mentor mothering the next generation of tradeswomen, we see you.

This isn’t your typical networking group...and that’s exactly the point. I adore these women and the bonds we are creating.
This is a space created by women, for women in the trades and other male-dominated industries. A space where support comes first, conversations come naturally, and connections grow from something real, not transactional.
When we started this group, we saw a gap. There are incredible organizations for women in roofing, women in construction, and so many individual trades, but nothing that truly brought us all together. No space that encouraged cross-trade connection, shared experiences, and real support across industries.
And the need is real. Women still make up only a small percentage of many skilled trades roles, (often just a few percent in fields like construction, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing) and the biggest challenge isn’t ability, it’s often the lack of support, visibility, and community.
So, we built what we couldn’t find.
This group is about showing up for each other. It’s about having honest conversations, sharing experiences, and creating a space where women feel seen, supported, and encouraged to stay and grow in these industries.
Yes, those conversations naturally lead to connections.
Yes, they lead to opportunities and referrals.
But that’s not why we’re here.
We’re here because when women support women, incredible things happen.
We are so proud of what this group has become already. Strong, driven, inspiring women across every role in the trades, building something bigger than any one of us could do alone.
