Custom Homes, Remodels, Commercial, Vacation Rentals AND Real Estate. We can get you that perfect land for your perfect build!

Or help you sell and buy to get you in your dream home! Brokered by Doug Lay Properties, LLC 417.527.5769 We have been area natives for the past 30 yrs but it took a Church and a Recovery Center, in Branson, for us to meet. “Serving Wholeheartedly” became a motto for us and we just can’t seem to escape it. It is who we are and why we are so passionate about what we do. Serving the Lord is what helped build our relationship with each other and our love for service. We love to build custom homes, remodel homes to better fit the owner’s needs and wants, and go above and beyond for families. We have a son, who used to work with us and still gets in on a few jobs here and there. We also have a FULL OF LIFE toddler who adores her Pomeranian, Halley! Our days are full and we are grateful for our lives and families. We extend our motto, to you, as we extend a piece of who we are, into our relationship with you. Quality, attention to detail, and passion are at the forefront of all we do. When we build or remodel a home, we imagine ourselves living in it. If something doesn’t look or feel right to us, we won’t just keep going and ignore it. We make sure we create wonderful spaces for you and your family to create those memories, have those chats over coffee, and enjoy that legacy you have built! Let’s work together to build your dream into reality.

This framing job at the Lake of the Ozarks holds a special place in my heart.

Roughly 25 years ago, my mom and dad poured a slab on this property with the dream of someday building a home on it. Life and circumstances kept that dream waiting, but this year, God opened the door to finally make it happen. I had the honor and privilege of framing that home.

My history with this property goes back even further. Growing up, I would visit my brothers for two weeks each year, and we spent those days building tree houses together right there on that land. You could say I’ve been a builder since childhood. 😊

Being back there, putting up walls where we once built tree houses, brought back so many memories. The projects have gotten bigger, but that feeling of building something with—and for—family is still just as special.

Seeing how proud and happy my parents were to have me frame their home warmed my heart more than I can put into words. I’m grateful to God for the opportunity, for those childhood memories, and for the privilege of helping a longtime family dream take shape.

A fresh look inside and out for a familiar purple building in Branson!

Harkness Construction, along with our crew and subcontractors, completed the interior build-out and added a covered gable entrance with white posts and trim. Purple handrails with a little sparkle complement the building’s signature color and complete the entry.

Thank you, Jackie, for trusting us with your project, and thank you to everyone who helped bring it together!

Game, set, build! 🎾

Here’s a throwback to a project we don’t get to do every day—a full tennis court we built in Emerald Pointe!

Custom homes and remodels may be our usual game, but every once in a while, we get the chance to step onto a different kind of court. This one was definitely a fun change of pace, and we think it turned out to be an ace! 😎

At Harkness Construction, we’re always up for helping bring a unique vision to life.
