This fireplace has been a long time coming—and 100% worth the wait.
It all started last Christmas when my wife was hanging stockings on a bookcase in the corner of our living room. Less than 24 hours later, reached out about partnering on a build. I’ve used their inserts on every fireplace I’ve built, so the timing honestly felt meant to be.
From the start, I knew I wanted to push myself with this design. I thought through every single detail—color, material, layout, spacing, proportions. I did a ton of research, took inspiration from past work, and leaned on the advice and opinions of some incredibly talented friends and creators like and .comfort.interiors. Every bit of it helped shape what this project became.
This build challenged me creatively and technically in all the best ways—and seeing it finally come to life in our own home has been incredibly rewarding. I’ll share more soon about how it all works behind the scenes, but for now, we’re just enjoying this moment… and finally having a place to hang those stockings.
