For those who have served and sacrificed for the rights and freedoms of others here and overseas, their efforts will never be lost and they are not alone. No matter what happens going forward in Afghanistan they did their duty and accomplished their mission. They executed under impossible rules of engagement. This is NOT a defeat. We proudly honor the service and sacrifices so many of our brothers and sisters have made.

To our veterans. You have been heroes to the future of our military. An inspiration and motivation to an entire generation of youth. Your service has been invaluable.
