Did you know that bright outdoor and indoor lighting can disorient millions of migrating birds as they fly through New York each spring and fall? 🕊️ Light pollution can attract birds off course, causing deadly collisions with buildings and windows.

🌟 Join New York State’s Lights Out initiative! 🌟

📆 When it matters most:
🔹 Spring Migration: April 15 – May 31
🔹 Fall Migration: August 15 – November 15 

🕐 What to do:
✔️ Turn off non-essential outdoor lights from 11:00 PM to dawn.
✔️ Turn off or dim unnecessary indoor lights near windows.
✔️ Draw blinds or curtains overnight to reduce light spill.
