Been cutting hazard trees in Jacksboro today. 10 days after an EF3 tornado struck the area. As the wildfires rage in west, north, and south Texas, it seems Jacksboro isn't getting much publicity.
Let me just say, this is heavy significant damage. More than 20+ if not 30+ homes completely destroyed. Reduced to rubble. Homes with major roof damage. Debris field that stretches. .5-1 mile wide by about 4-5 miles long. Photos still don't do the damage justice. This town needs help removing debris, hauling debris, picking up debris, clothing donations, anything. One family we helped said they rode out the storm in their storm shelter, thank God because their home is the rubble pile you see. They just had a baby few days after the tornado. Everything was destroyed.
Yall these people need help. The coordinated effort is not so coridinated either. Their are absolutely no state resources here, no fema trailers, showers, or bathrooms, I've seen maybe 2 fema employees, no red cross, nothing.
The citizens are having to do this on their own.
Shout out to Will Reynolds for being my swamper today.
